Planning a visit?
Visiting any church for the very first time can be a tough experience. Well, we want to put you at ease so that your first visit to Southwest will be refreshing, friendly, and enjoyable for your whole family. We want you to experience inspiring music, helpful teaching and preaching from God’s Word, friendly people, and a place where you feel welcome and “at home”! Here are a few answers to questions that you may have as well as what you might expect on your first visit.
Where do I take my children?
Starting with an excellent nursery, there is something special for your children at Southwest. At every service, there is a safe, clean, and lovingly-staffed nursery for children 3 years old and under. When children come with their parents for Sunday School at 9:30 AM on Sunday mornings, we ensure that they have a fun, friendly, Bible-centered class to attend. Classes are staffed with trained, friendly, and well-qualified teachers and helpers who will make learning the Bible exciting and memorable for your child. We also provide an exciting children’s church service at 10:30 AM to allow parents to enjoy the morning service in the auditorium. The children will enjoy fun songs, games, activities, and most importantly, they will be taught a Bible lesson geared towards a younger crowd. Our goal is to help them to know and love Jesus while they’re young.
When you first arrive at SWBC, we would like to help you find the appropriate nurseries, classes, and services for every person in your family. Our welcome team is located in the lobby of the main auditorium and will gladly help direct and even escort you to the right place.
What about my teens?
Our desire is to eventually start a youth class all its own where teens can enjoy a time more tailored for the youth. However, we do currently have a combined adult and youth class in the fellowship hall on Sunday mornings at 9:30AM. This is a time where the entire family can come and learn a lesson from God’s Word and grow together. For our Sunday AM and PM services, as well as the Wednesday night Bible Study, our teens participate in the regular church services with the adults.
How should I dress?
We do not have a specific dress code for services, but It is our desire that nothing will distract from our worship of God. Our ministry leaders and many of our church family dress in more of a traditional “Sunday” dress; however, our main goal is that you would feel welcome and comfortable on your visit here at Southwest.
